Gairloch Aid & Mobility Support

Wheelchairs

Manual Wheelchairs

Manual wheelchairs enable carers to take out people with limited mobility.

This can be, for example to attend a doctor’s appointment or to visit to an optician. It is also possible to take them out to socialise or to have a pleasant walk in the fresh air.

All our manual wheelchairs are self-propelled, which has the following benefits:

- Enables carers to move the wheel-chair more safely over uneven grounds and up and down pavements.

- The disabled person can move this wheelchair himself.

- The wheels can be removed which makes it easier to load the wheelchair into a car.

Tilt in Space Wheelchairs

Tilt in Space wheelchairs are designed for those that need to spend longer periods of time in a wheelchair, and who may also need assistance with their posture. The wheelchair can be tilted and reclined to help the user maintain the correct posture, as well as assist with even pressure distribution. Anatomically shaped cushioning ensures that it is a true "comfort wheelchair", and also ensures that the necessary postural support is provided.

Important features:

Seat height/depth is adjustable

Armrests are adjustable

Elevating leg rests are fully adjustable

The wheelchair has a head rest and long back

Some have additional lateral support

Powered mobility

Electric Scooters and Power Wheelchairs allow people to move within their home and community. They can help maximize independence for those with limited mobility.

Electric Scooter

Our Leo is a small scooter, which is suitable for inside or outside on flat surfaces. It can be easy dismantled into 5 manageable pieces for easy transport. Easily adjustable tiller, width adjustable armrests & height adjustable seat allows the user to customize to suit their needs.

Powered Wheelchairs

We have different models of powered wheelchairs for different needs.

The Meyra Optimus II is a class III powered wheelchair, which is allowed on the road. It is suitable for bad roads and rough paths. Because of its size it is not suitable for inside and not easily transported in a car.

The Invacare Mirage is a transportable powered wheelchair. Its compact design and excellent manoeuvrability gives the Mirage an unrivalled performance both indoors and out.

The Sunrise F55 Quickie is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. It is only intended for use as a pavement vehicle, but may also be used when crossing between pavements.

The Pride Jazzy 1121 is suitable for in-and outside use. It is fitted with advanced Active-Trac Suspension (ATS), to provide a smooth and comfortable ride whatever the terrain. It has a tight- space indoor manoeuvrability.
